K.J.'s Story

In 2012, K.J. was hit by a car while riding in a go-cart. He was airlifted by helicopter to Batson Children's Hospital in Jackson. The accident left K.J. paralyzed from the waist down, but K.J. doesn't let his disability hold him back.

The 11-year-old is an honor roll student at Mize Attendance Center. K.J. plays basketball, competes in track and field events, and has even gone surfing in California, all from his wheelchair. His dream is to one day participate in the Paralympic Games.

K.J. was selected as the 2018 Mississippi Children's Miracle Network Hospitals Champion.
